Are hair extensions damaging for my hair?

When high quality hair is used and applied professionally and correctly, along with good aftercare at home, there shouldn’t be any damage caused to your natural hair, in fact, as long as treated correctly, you can grow your own hair whilst enjoying additional length and volume.

What quantity of hair do I need?

This generally depends on how much length you wish to add, and what density the natural hair already is. If you are looking to become a couple of inches longer or just add additional volume or colour dimension, then 50g-100g of hair is generally enough to create your desired look. However, if you have short, high-density hair and would like to extend your hair below your waistline, you may need 200-300g of hair. On average, most clients that are going from shoulder length to 20-24 inch will use approximately 125-150g of hair to achieve a natural looking full head.

What is the best aftercare regime for hair extensions?

Can I colour hair extensions?

It’s not recommended to colour the extensions, doing so will void the returns policy. All hair has already undergone chemical treatment, this colouring process has been gently managed over a period of weeks to retain a natural state where possible, but additonal, especially non-professional colouring could mean potentially reducing hair lifespan and impacting the condition.

How long do hair extensions last?

The lifespan of hair extensions depends on factors such as the type of hair, the quality of the hair, and how often you wear them.

In the case of our hair, it's aftercare, aftercare, aftercare. If keeping up with your aftercare routine, and we recommend the Hair2Love products, then your hair should last you 12-24 months. This applies to both the Boutique Slavic and Remy Amour ranges.


Can I swim with hair extensions?

You should be aware that any contact with salt water, hard water, or chlorine water may cause discolouration and frizz leading to the damage of your extensions. It cannot be guaranteed, but the best prevention is to soak your hair with watered down conditioner prior to swimming, and wash your hair out with clear water as soon as you have a chance following. How do I choose the right type of hair extensions for me?

What is the difference between synthetic and human hair extensions?

Human hair extensions are made from real hair and can be styled and washed, if good quality hair, it can last for over 12 months as well!

How should I care for my hair extensions?

To extend the lifespan of your hair extensions, it's important to follow the aftercare instructions and to avoid using excessive heat or harsh chemicals. You should also avoid sleeping with wet hair and brush your extensions gently to avoid tangling, but these are just two of many tips available.

The time it takes to install hair extensions depends on the type of extensions and the amount being installed. If buying hair through Hair2Love, our professional methods will generally take a stylist 2-4 hours to install.

How often should I wash my hair extensions?

The frequency of washing your hair extensions will depend on your individual hair care routine. On average, you should wash your extensions twice a week to keep them looking and feeling fresh.

Do not wash within 48 hours of installation, and do not apply conditioning or moisturising products near the bond.

How long will it take for hair to arrive?

Domestic delivery in the UK can be from a target of 2-4 working days for standard 1st class, through to guaranteed next day before 1pm deliver with the Royal Mail Special Delivery service. Internationally we use Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed.

What is the return policy for hair extensions?

We offer a very easy returns solution, don't cut the hair tie, keep the packaging, return within 14 days with Boutique Slavic hair, or 30 days with Remy Amour.

No customs fees or taxes to pay on domestic UK delivery. But, yes, there may be customs fees or taxes for international orders, depending on the country of the recipient. We accept payments through Credit Card, PayPal, and Klarna. We are PayPal verified.

Can I get a refund if I cancel my order?

Yes, the processing will depend on when you cancel the order. But we will do everything we can to process asap after being notified. If hair is not dispatched, we can process the same day (return on funds will then depend on payment processor), if needing to return the hair, please look at our returns policy.

What is the currency of the payment?

Naturally being in the UK we use GBP. However, we can also accept AUD, CAD, EUR, AED, & USD, all using the currency switcher found in our footer.
